To help maintain the quality and consistency of our content, we’ve put together a set of contributor guidelines for all contributors. Please take a moment to review these before submitting your work.

General Contributor Guidelines

Original Work
All submissions must be 100% original, unpublished, and exclusive to Sydney Wire. Any plagiarized or AI-generated content will be immediately rejected.

Tone & Voice
Our tone is relaxed, inclusive, and approachable. We aim for a conversational style that resonates with readers across all walks of life. Avoid jargon or overly technical terms unless they’re necessary and explained in a simple way.

Respectful & Inclusive Language
We value diverse voices and experiences. Ensure your language is inclusive, respectful, and considerate of all readers, regardless of background, identity, or perspective.

Inclusivity at the Core
We encourage articles that reflect varied identities and experiences. Cover stories that celebrate diversity in style, culture, and opinion, and avoid making assumptions about your audience’s preferences.

Engagement with a Broad Audience
We’re all about creating content that inspires, educates, and entertains readers from all walks of life. Focus on topics that offer actionable insights, whether it’s practical advice, lifestyle hacks, or inspiring stories.

Content-Length & Structure

Article Length
We recommend articles be between 800–1,500 words. If your piece is longer or shorter, please discuss it with us first.

Formatting Tips

  • Use clear headings and subheadings (H2, H3) to break up your content.
  • Keep paragraphs short for easy reading.
  • Utilize bullet points and numbered lists to organize information effectively.
  • Write concisely and ensure your content is easy to follow.

SEO & Optimization

Engaging Headlines
Your headline should be captivating, clear, and reflective of the content. It’s the first thing readers will see, so make it stand out!

Keyword Integration
Incorporate relevant keywords naturally throughout the article to boost SEO, but avoid keyword stuffing. Aim for smooth, engaging copy.

Meta Descriptions & Slug Suggestions
Each submission should include a short meta description (max 160 characters) and a suggested URL slug.
